The Greaves family has been growing sugar cane since the 1980s, at the foot of the Makhonwja mountains, which thanks to the high temperatures and tropical climate there is a perfect habitat for this type of plantation. his son Robert, a mechanical engineer, decided to modify the family sugar refinery by building himself two steel stills that could be used for the production of a French school rum, therefore agricultural, of pure sugar cane syrup and creating the first rum from these lands. The word Mhoba in local dialect means sugar cane, creating a further combination of raw material and final product.
